Continuing to build on its nearly 40-year citizenship by investment programme success with the sustained addition of more countries to its already powerful passport, Saint Kitts offers those who acquire citizenship of this small Caribbean nation visa-free access to the most destinations of any Caribbean country, with the latest signed-up countries including North Macedonia, Jordan and Eswatini.
Since 1984, the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis has been a highly efficient, cost-effective and lawful path to obtaining full second citizenship in the scenic, peaceful dual-island nation located between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea.
One of the primary rewards that flock individuals to the long-running CBI Programme, which requires a minimum investment of US$150,000 to the country’s sustainable development fund, is the attained ability to travel to nearly 160 countries and territories with the nation’s much-coveted passport ensuring freedom of movement for both business and pleasure.
While there are many different types of visas to enter foreign borders, visa-free access is what determines how powerful a passport is. According to Henley’s Passport Index 2020 Q4 edition, released mid-October, the passport of Saint Kitts is the 25th most powerful in the world, with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 156 countries.
However, St Kitts has since signed visa waiver agreements with even more countries taking its number to nearly 160.
Just this month (December 2020), St Kitts signed a visa waiver agreement with the Federation and the Kingdom of Eswatini, established a visa waiver with the Republic of North Macedonia, and established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Jordan, which means that nationals from both nations with a valid passport are exempted from visa requirements for entry. And recently, St Kitts established a visa waiver with the Republic of North Macedonia.
That’s three new countries added to St Kitts’ visa-free list in just one month as the Caribbean nation’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mark Brantley focuses on establishing new diplomatic relations and visa waiver agreements frequently.
“[This] means we have added 26 new countries with a full visa waiver and two with partial visa waiver in the last five years,” Mark Brantley recently told CS Global Partners. “We have also broadened our diplomatic footprint with 37 new formal diplomatic relations in that same time.”
With a second passport from St Kitts and Nevis, one’s travel and business scope are substantially broadened. For investors who decide to build a business in the thriving tourism sector of St Kitts and Nevis, it is easy to find a qualified English-speaking workforce available.
Saint Kitts’ citizenship by investment programme
Established in 1984, it remains the ‘Platinum Standard’ of the industry. It is widely renowned in the industry for being one of the most efficient, transparent and reliable options for economic citizenship and has been recently announced as the second best CBI Programme worldwide (just one point less than Dominica) according to the CBI Index 2020.
The fastest CIP worldwide, it is the only citizenship by investment nation to offer a secure, fast-track route. For a fee, the Accelerated Application Process (AAP) delivers a guaranteed 60-day result. The programme is also family-inclusive, allowing for parents and grandparents of both the main applicant and spouse, above the age of 55 and 65, respectively, as well as siblings, having recently announced the inclusion of siblings in an application.
The fastest and most straightforward route to second citizenship in St Kitts and Nevis is the Sustainable Growth Fund which currently offers applicants a limited-time offer. Until January 15th, 2021, families of up to four who choose to become citizens only need to invest $150,000 instead of $195,000.
